True confession - I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year. I love to set new fitness goals, but Thanksgiving, holiday parties, Christmas cookies, family gatherings and Starbucks Peppermint White Chocolate Mochas all threaten to sabotage my goals.
When the going gets tough, accountability is crucial.
I host challenge groups every single month but sometimes I need to go outside my own community for an extra dose of accountability. Especially at the holidays.
So I’m joining with my Sweat Pink Ambassador sisters in a #HolidaySweat Challenge. We’re tracking just three areas and we will post our progress on our social media channels for accountability. (That’s the scary part!)
Focus for the Holiday Sweat Challenge:
1. Minutes of exercise.
Yes, official workouts count, but also activity outside of your daily workout, like walking the dog, cleaning, shopping, morning yoga and dancing in the kitchen while making dinner!
2. Freegies.
No, this not a typo. Freggies is a fun terms to describe FRuit and vEEGIE intake. No counting calories, containers, carbs or fat grams. Focus on getting in those freggies and the rest of the diet will fall into place.
3. Water.
Drink up!
Accountability is the secret sauce.
I struggle with my eating every single day, particularly this time of year. I don’t have a problem doing an official workout of 30-60 minutes, but outside of that I am very sedentary even though fitness is my business!
The #HolidaySweat Challenge will help me stay focused on my goals during the holiday season, in a fun way.
So now I’m off to plan my menu for the week, being sure to include lots of freggies. And not only will I get my workouts on the calendar, but I’ll set my phone alarm for mini fitness breaks during the day. And I’ll keep my challenge tracker close by so I don’t “accidentally” forget to track minutes, freegies and H2O.
Are you going to pay close attention to your eating and exercise during the holidays??
