When you are trying to lose weight or keep it off, setting goals is critically important. Lots has been written on the topic of goal-setting, but one of the biggest struggles I have found is how to remember what my goals are!

This sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? But often I will set some amazing goal, write a detailed plan to achieve it and then…. nothing. I can’t act on my goal if I don’t see it daily. Keeping your goal in plain sight is a component that is missing from many goal-setting plans.

With my own forgetfulness in mind, I offer you my favorite ways to keep your goals visible. Remember your goals - every single day.

10 Creative Ways to Remember Your Goals

  1. Write your goals on a Post-It note and place it on your bathroom mirror.
  2. Write your goal in a note app on your phone, take a screen shot, and make that image your home screen. You’ll be reminded of your goals every time you pick up your phone.
  3. Post your goal on your Facebook page to be accountable to yourself and your friends.
  4. Post your goal on Instagram to be accountable to yourself and your followers.
  5. Tweet your goals and daily progress.
  6. Use one of the fun photo apps (or a photo program for a computer) to create a simple photo/word collage and either use that as your phone’s lock screen, or print out and post somewhere you will see it daily.
  7. Write your goal in a note app on your phone, take a screen shot, and make that image your home screen. You’ll be reminded of your goals every time you pick up your phone.
